Description

Kitama stationary Thai massage table in oak with wooden ornaments in a treatment room

Stationary Thai Massage Table in Oak – Solid, Stable & Authentic

A Thai massage table has to withstand more than a normal treatment table: in traditional Thai massage (Nuad) you work with elbows, knees and your own body weight – often kneeling directly on the table. The stationary wooden massage table by Kitama is built exactly for this: solid white oak legs, firm H5 padding and a load capacity of up to approx. 300 kg.

The delicate wooden ornaments in Thai style give your treatment room a warm, authentic atmosphere – available in natural wood (clear lacquer) or black (matt) and in three widths to suit your type of treatment.

Solid legs made of American white oak glulam on the Kitama Thai massage table

American White Oak Instead of Pine

The heart of the table are the legs made of glued American white oak (Quercus alba). Many low-cost massage tables are made of soft pine or chipboard – oak glulam is considerably harder and denser.

Dimensionally stable: the glued lamellas prevent warping and cracks caused by fluctuating humidity.
Load-bearing: designed for up to approx. 300 kg according to the manufacturer – even for leverage-intensive techniques.
Warp-free multiplex boards for shelf and ornaments.

Good to know: The table is delivered disassembled in a flat box (only approx. 19 cm high). Carried upright, it fits through standard doors – the tools are included.

Kitama massage table with face cut-out, matching cover cushion and dark brown faux leather cover in H5 firmness

Firm H5 Padding & Product Details

The approx. 4.5 cm thick padding in extra-firm H5 firmness is essential for Thai massage: it does not sink in under point pressure from elbows, knees or heels and gives you stable resistance during leverage and stretching techniques. The integrated face cut-out ensures relaxed lying in the prone position. When it is not needed – e.g. in the supine position – close it with the matching cover cushion: a round plug on the underside holds it securely in the hole.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about the Stationary Thai Massage Table

What makes the Kitama table different from low-cost massage tables?

Many low-cost tables are made of pine or chipboard. The Kitama table relies on legs made of glued American white oak and warp-free multiplex boards, extra-firm H5 padding and a load capacity of up to approx. 300 kg according to the manufacturer. It is made by a specialist manufacturer of massage and spa furniture in China with almost 30 years of experience.

Why oak glulam instead of pine?

White oak is considerably harder, denser and more resilient than pine. Pine is softer, more sensitive to pressure and more prone to cracks and warping with fluctuating humidity. Gluing several lamellas keeps the oak additionally dimensionally stable – a torsion-free base for daily studio use.

Which width (80, 100 or 120 cm) is right?

For oil, aroma and physiotherapy we recommend 80 cm – so you work close to the client. For traditional Thai massage we recommend 100 cm – our most popular width, on which you can comfortably kneel and support yourself. If you want maximum freedom of movement, choose 120 cm.

How high is the table – and can the height be adjusted?

The working height is 65 cm from the floor to the top of the mattress – ideal for leverage-intensive Thai massage techniques. With our optional wooden adapter you raise it to 75 cm.

How much weight can the table hold?

According to the manufacturer, the load-bearing white oak construction is designed for up to approx. 300 kg. This makes it suitable for heavier clients and for techniques in which you add your own body weight.

How do I clean and care for the faux leather cover?

The cover is easy to wipe clean. For a long service life:

Do not use massage oil directly on the cover – use a fitted sheet or an oil-repellent cover. Over time, oil can draw the plasticisers out of the faux leather.
Only use faux-leather-friendly, alcohol-free cleaners – alcohol dries out the material and can cause cracks.

What is included in the delivery?

The table (disassembled), the assembly tools and the matching cover cushion for the face cut-out. Free with your order you receive a matching fitted sheet with face hole and a 10-litre canister of Kitama Neutral Massage Oil.

How heavy is the table and how big is the box?

The table is delivered complete in one flat box:

80 cm width: approx. 70 kg, box approx. 202 × 82 × 19 cm
100 cm width: approx. 75 kg, box approx. 202 × 102 × 19 cm
120 cm width: approx. 80 kg, box approx. 202 × 122 × 19 cm

Always carry the box with two people and measure doors and stairs in advance.

How much space do I need for the table?

The table itself measures 200 cm × 80, 100 or 120 cm. For Thai massage we recommend approx. 80–100 cm of free space all around – for the 100 cm table that means a free area of approx. 3.8 × 2.8 m.

How much effort is the assembly?

The tools are included. With some DIY skills and enough space, assembly takes approx. 45–75 minutes per table – possibly a little longer depending on experience and space. All steps with drawings can be found in the assembly instructions (PDF).

Will the table creak over time?

Wood works – especially in the first few weeks and when humidity changes. After approx. 2 weeks, retighten all screws once crosswise; in most cases this eliminates slight noises. You will find more tips in the assembly instructions (PDF).

How is the table delivered and how long does it take?

The table is delivered disassembled by freight on a disposable pallet, kerbside. You can see the shipping costs in the cart.
